Top 5 affirmations to remove mental blockages when recovering from an illness or an injury

The mind and the body are always connected and in tandem with each other which makes our everyday
functioning possible. However, when we are ill or suffer an injury, we may be mostly advised to rest by the
medical experts. It is at this time, we may observe a strong conflict between the body and the mind. While
the mind pushes us to get going, the body requests time. We may fail to realize that healing from an
illness or injury is both healing of the mind and the body. However, we may end up focusing on either one
of them.

There may be many mental blockages that obstruct our healing process leading to a longer recovery time.
The first step is identifying these blockages and then removing them so as to make the recovery process
healthy and speedy. While mental blockages may differ for each individual, in this blog, I will focus on
some common mental blockages that become obstacles while recovering from an illness or an injury.

Based on my lived experience, I’m sharing 5 affirmations to remove some common mental blockages that
can be helpful in attaining a swift and a wholesome recovery

  1. Mental Blockage – This is taking too long. This may be a common mental block as we may expect quick returns from the efforts we put in to achieve anything. This mental space of wishing to receive instant gratification may become a block to long-lasting healing of the illness or an injury.
Affirmations to remove blockage – Great things take time. I am building a long-lasting and healthy self from this recovery process. I am listening to my body and giving it the time it needs. I ask myself whether my decisions and actions are helping me or harming me. I set small goals for myself and focus on the compound effect of the outcomes that will be achieved.
  2. Mental Blockage – No one understands my pain and suffering. It may be very easy to victimize ourselves especially when we are dependent on others for our functioning. The mental space of blaming others and externalizing the problems and challenges may lead to further frustration and irritation of the mind.
Affirmations to remove blockage – I am the decision maker of whether my pain becomes my suffering. My body has gone through a lot. I am kind to myself. I am thankful to everyone who is giving me care, support and love. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign of strength. I am utilizing my strengths to make the best of the situation at hand.
  3. Mental Blockage – Why me?. This may be a common blockage experienced by most of us when we are ill or suffer an injury. We inevitably may end up with the thought of this question in our head. The mental space of blaming self and creating a spiral of negativity around us may lead to resentment and anger thereby stalling the progress towards recovery.
Affirmation to remove blockage – I am chosen to walk through this path because I have the strength to overcome this adversity. I am blessed with the love, care and support of my loved ones. I have the ability to create my reality from my thoughts.
  4. Mental Blockage – This is too difficult. This may be a mental block that arises during the middle of the recovery time. Consistent efforts may be very challenging to maintain when the body is recovering. Discipline is a must since the end result mostly comes from repetitive action. However, somewhere in the process, the recovery takes a hit when we may give up on the efforts.
Affirmation to remove blockage – I know this is difficult and I am capable of moving in the right direction towards recovery. I have done it before and so I can do it again. I dedicate a fixed time in my routine to consistently continue my efforts towards my recovery.
  5. Mental Blockage – Life is not going to be the same after this. Fear, anxiety and worry may be primary emotions that occupy the mind when struck with an illness or an injury. Will I be able to get back to normalcy? How is this impacting me financially? Will I ever be able to forget this trauma and pain? It is natural to be overwhelmed with these questions and have utmost worry about the future.
Affirmation to remove blockage – I emerge a stronger person out of this illness or injury. I learn new things about myself – my strengths, my fears, my weaknesses, etc. I appreciate the goodness around me which helps me to do more and beyond once I recover. I am working towards the things I can control. I am focussed on utilizing what is working well for me.

There may be many mental blockages personal to each one. However, these 5 stated above may be the common ones and I strongly believe that the affirmations shared in this blog may definitely be helpful in overcoming the blockages and the associated challenges with the blockages.
